Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus released in the second half of the year, Snapdragon 888GPU
As previously reported, in early December, Qualcomm has officially released the Snapdragon 888 processor chip. The Snapdragon 888 SoC will become the core support for flagship Android phones in 2021. Several OEMs have confirmed that they will launch the Snapdragon 888 processor in the first quarter of 2021. Dragon 888's cell phone.
It is reported that Snapdragon 888 uses 1 x 2.84GHz (ARM's latest Cortex X1 core)+3 x 2.4GHz (Cortex A78)+4 x 1.8GHz (Cortex A55), Adreno 660 GPU, X60 5G modem baseband, and WiFi support 6E, Bluetooth 5.2.
According to the news, the Snapdragon 888+ is currently tentatively available, and because this is planned for the second half of the year, Qualcomm has written the highest frequency of the Snapdragon 888 to 840MHz to prevent manufacturers from secretly overclocking.
The frequency lock here refers to the GPU frequency. For example, the Xiaomi Mi 11 parameter page shows that the Snapdragon 888 uses Adreno 660 graphics processor with a maximum frequency of 840MHz.
As the latest product of the Snapdragon 8 series, Snapdragon 888 integrates Qualcomm's third-generation 5G modem and radio frequency system-Snapdragon X60, which supports all major global millimeter wave and Sub-6GHz frequency bands, as well as 5G carrier aggregation, global multi-SIM card functions, Independent (SA) and non-independent (NSA) networking modes and dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS).
The sixth-generation Qualcomm AI engine integrated on the Snapdragon 888 5G mobile platform includes the newly designed Qualcomm Hexagon processor, with a performance of an astonishing 26 trillion operations per second (26 TOPS). In terms of games, the third-generation Snapdragon Elite Gaming is integrated, and Qualcomm claims that it brings the most significant performance improvement ever made by Qualcomm Adreno GPU.
In terms of camera performance, the Spectra ISP of Snapdragon 888 supports faster billion-pixel-level processing speed. Users can process 2.7 billion pixels per second to take photos and videos, that is, 120 frames per second and each frame is 12 million Pixel, the processing speed is up to 35% higher than the previous generation platform.
